Three Nigerian players have newly been signed by Spanish La Liga club Villarreal.
Chukwuka Johnson, Aimufua Junior and Johnson Kalu were signed by Villarreal after a trial tournament organised by Geelec Football Academy with the support of Nigerian intermediary Babawo Mohammed.
According to owngoalnigeria.com, Johnson, Junior and Kalu are already in Spain where they will start with the B team.
They will be closely monitored for onward progress to the senior team.
It could be recalled that winger Samuel Chukwueze was also a product of Villarreal team B before his promotion to the first team following his progress.
Junior is a striker who was signed from Moonluck FC of Lagos after impressing scouts of Villarreal who were in Nigeria for the trail tournament, Chukwuka Johnson was signed from Geelec Academy after impressing as a right winger.
Kalu played for Family Love FC of Port Hacourt during the trial tournament and he impressed playing as an attacking midfielder much to the delight of the Villarreal scouts hence the deal to join the team.
