Kidnapped Siasia's mother regains freedom

Former Nigeria coach Samson Siasia can heave a sigh of relief following the release of his mother by kidnappers.

Madam Beauty Ogere Siasia was kidnapped on July 15 from her country home in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

After 10 weeks in her abductors' den, the 76-year-old has finally been released alongside others.

“We thank God and every other Nigerians that have assisted us in ensuring Mama’s return home,” a source was quoted by The Sun as saying on Sunday.

It was the second time in four years Madam Siasia would be taken away from her sleepy community by a gang of armed men. She was abducted in November 2015 by a gang of gunmen who released her after spending 12 days in their custody.

During the period of her second abduction, Samson Siasia was handed a life ban by FIFA.
