Ghana international striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has expressed his delight in being part of the UEFA Champions League and scoring his debut goal on Tuesday, October 1.
Boakye-Yiadom came off the bench and immediately scored Red Star Belgrade's third goal of the night making it a 3-1 victory over Olympiacos.
Speaking in a post-match interview, the 26-year-old took some time to savour the moment and expressed his gratituded to the fans for their undying support.
“I’m happy and I thank God for giving me this first goal in Champions League this season. it’s amazing and it’s a great feeling to just head the ball and watch how it flies into the net. Its just amazing!
"All credit goes to almighty God because without Him there’s is no Boakye-Yiadom. And I also thank all Ghanaians for their support. It’s a great feeling to be part of Champions League history!”
