Diego Simeone has let out that Ghana’s Thomas Partey is grossly undervalued.
The latest Partey review comes shortly after the midfielder’s stellar display in Moscow on Tuesday night. Put simply, Atletico gained a 2-0 win and Partey was lovely.
The 25-year-old Ghanaian caked his glowing midfielder performance with a 58th-minute goal. His Argentine manager added that Partey would have been a lot more celebrated if his profile had English or German clubs.
"I'm very happy with Thomas. If he had come from an English or German team, he would be [lauded] but he's from the academy and he's just Thomas.
"He has been working for many years, non-stop,” Simeone concluded.
Partey’s next UEFA Champions League night will be on 22 October. His side will welcome Germany’s Bayer Leverkusen to the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.
