Davide Zappacosta has suffered a massive blow to his loan spell with Roma after picking a serious knee injury during training according to Sky Sports reports.
Further reports suggest that this injury could bring his loan move from Chelsea to a complete halt - the severity of the injury could see him being on the sidelines for a lengthy period of time.
Zappacosta joined Roma in the summer, where he signed a six-month loan deal with an option to extend the contract until the end of the 2019/20 season.
According to reports, the 27-year-old suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage, and this could result in the rest of his contract being unused.
Upon joining the Serie A outfit, Zappacosta has made only one appearance where he came off the bench in the second half of Roma's 3-3 draw to Genoa.
