Kenya’s national women football team Harambee Starlets jetted back in the country on Sunday 6 October after their draw against Ghana on Friday.
The team is set to host Ghana for the second leg at MISC Kasarani on Tuesday 8 October with the aggregate winner in the Olympic qualifier proceeding to the next (fourth) round.
Speaking on the game, head coach David Ouma as quoted by the Football Kenya Federation said: “Of course playing a draw away to Ghana was a positive result for us. It gives us a good starting point for yet another positive outcome in the second leg on Tuesday.”
Sense of Optimism
Ouma’s sense of optimism was echoed by forward Mwanahalima Adam who said as a team they played as instructed by their coach.
“We played according to the coach’s instructions and achieved the result we wanted. Our hope is that fans will come out in large numbers to support us on Tuesday as we look to get a win that we really need,” she said.
The second leg that will kick off at 4 pm EAT will be free of charge as FKF aims to lure more fans to root for the home team.
