France coach Didier Deschamps has warned striker Olivier Giroud over his bench role at English Premier League side Chelsea FC.
Giroud has been a part-time player at Stamford Bridge with manager Frank Lampard preferring England youngster Tammy Abraham to lead the line.
Deschamps while hailing Giroud's prowess in front of goal for France, admitted that lack of game time at Chelsea was hampering the strikers’ chances on the international stage.
Nothing will Move
“You know, Olivier suffers his situation. Before January, nothing will move," Deschamps told a press conference on Monday after their 1-1 draw with Turkey in the UEFA Euro Qualifiers.
“After, it will be up to him to see. I hope he will have more playing time. But we cannot take away his goals, his good performances. He scores, he makes others play well. He knows he is under pressure, but he always responds.”
Giroud came off the bench and scored within four minutes in what was his third goal in four matches for France, but his header was cancelled out late on by Kaan Ayhan in the draw.
