Fikayo Tomori still eligible for Nigeria after England snub

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori is still eligible to play for Nigeria after failing to make his England senior debut.

Tomori was included in England squad for two Europe qualifiers fixtures against Czech Republic and Bulgaria but was not fielded in any of the matches.

If Tomori is invited by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr for Nigeria's 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic in November, the Chelsea defender can still switch to Nigeria if he wishes.

In the English squad at the moment, Tomori is well behind the trio of Tyrone Mings, Harry Maguire and Michael Keane in Southgate’s pecking order of central defenders.
