Halftime: Nothing to separate Sweden from Spain at the break

Spain and Sweden headed into the half time break level at 0-0 in a UEFA European Championship qualifier with both teams squandering glorious opportunities to go ahead.

Seeking to get over their 1-1 draw over Norway, Spain were quickly off the blocks and got their first real opening of the game in the seventh minute when Thiago Alcantara's shot was blocked but he got the second bite at the cherry with a clear sight on goal but he chose to go around the keeper with Robin Olsen getting a hand on the ball as the it bounced off the Bayern Munich midfielder for a goal kick.

After domination in the first 20 minutes, Sweden grew into the game and managed to carve out opportunities with the best falling to Robin Quaison, whose header required a top-class save from David De Gea to tip it out for a corner. Both teams went into the half time break locked in a barren draw.

Stand by for the second half match report.
