Leicester to honour late chairman with memorial garden

Premier League side Leicester City is set to honour its late chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha with a memorial garden.

Srivaddhanaprabha passed on on October 27th last year in a helicopter crash after Leicester's Premier League clash with West Ham United at King Power Stadium. The tragic helicopter crash killed the club's chairman including four people who were on board. A video that was shared online showed the helicopter losing control before it crashed into a car park around 200 meters from the ground taking the lives of the chairman, the pilot, and three other passengers.

And now the Foxes will now honour the chairman with a memorial garden which will be located on the site of the tragedy. The garden will be open to the public on October 27th after a ceremony which will be held privately in his honour.

"Appropriate and respectful management of the accident site is something to which we have given great consideration over the last 12 months," revealed Leicester's chief executive Susan Whelan.

"Supporters and visitors have shown impeccable respect during our immediate efforts to protect it and we are now in a position to confirm our permanent intentions for the site."

Leicester will be up against Burnley over the weekend and the club is expected to pay tribute to their late chairman with a minute's of silence.
