After Roy Keane blasted Manchester United players for being too friendly in the tunnel just before the clash against Liverpool, Roberto Firmino has responded to the former Ireland international.
Speaking as a pundit on Sky Sports, Keane blasted Fred and Andreas Pereira for being too friendly with their Brazilian compatriot of Fabinho and Firmino, "I’m disgusted with the players. You’re going to war, they’re hugging and kissing. Don’t even look at the opposition. You’re going into battle against them."
In an interview with ESPN, Firmino responded to Keane's criticism, "I don’t want to create controversy with anyone. I find it quite normal before the game to greet each other, ask how they are doing. That’s all. Nothing more than that.
"But on the pitch, they aren’t friends, each one defends his club to the best of his ability. Then the rivalry increases on the pitch."
United earned a 1-1 draw with Marcus Rashford and Adam Lallana registering their names on the scoresheet.
