Darren Randolph injury doubt ahead of Euro 2020 qualifier against Denmark

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate has revealed that Darren Randolph is unlikely to feature for the Republic of Ireland ahead of the Euro 2020 qualifier against Denmark according to BBC Sport.

Randolph was on the sidelines during Middlesbrough 0-0 stalemate to Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night, having featured in the game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The Republic of Ireland will have to secure a victory over Denmark come November 18 if they are to qualify to the Euro 2020 tournament.

"Darren's got a thigh strain, I'm not sure how long he'll be out for," said Woodgate via Teeside Live.

"He might not make the (next) Ireland game, he might not make next week."

He added: "He was sore coming back from international duty. He played against West Brom and he was sore with it so he's had it for a while."

Randolph has been a standout goalkeeper for the Republic of Ireland as Mick McCarthy's first choice - he started all seven matches played in the Euro 2020 qualifiers.
