Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has leveled Abel Resino's record for most clean sheets in La Liga for the club.
Oblak was between the posts when Atleti beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 in the league over the weekend with the clean sheet being the Slovenia’s 95th in La Liga.
The record was previously held by Resino, who played 243 games for Atletico between 1986 and 1995. However, Oblak has managed such a feat in only 163 games an astonishing 80 games fewer than Resino.
This season alone, Atleti has kept seven clean sheets in ten games in La Liga this year and a further two in the Champions League this season with much credit on their defensive formation deployed by manager Diego Simeone.
They are placed fourth in the Laliga table and second in their Champions League group; the keeper hoping to surpass Resino’s record when they face Deportivo Alaves on Tuesday.
