Steve Bruce monitoring Arsenal teenager as he trials at Newcastle United

Newcastle United are reportedly monitoring Arsenal teenager Stan Flaherty who just completed a trial with fellow Premier League outfit West Ham United according to the Daily Star.

Flaherty who also had a training stint with Newcastle was kept on the books of Arsenal but he has struggled to gain some minutes on the pitch due to the stiff competition in the squad.

According to The Chronicle, the 17-year-old has now been awarded ample opportunities to showcase his talent all in hopes of being signed by a team that will ensure him game time.

"I watch and learn from all players I’m similar in style too," Flaherty previously shared Arsenal's matchday programme.

"The main player I look to learn from is Andres Iniesta – his positioning, passing range, movement and more are just superb.

"I also like to learn from younger players too.

“I love watching Phil Foden and he was excellent in the Community Shield. He’s very tactically aware and I most like the way that he plays on the turn so he’s always ready to make attacking moves."

Flaherty is certainly a star for the future although manager Steve Bruce is already setting his eyes on players who can join the Magpies and improve the squad further.
