EFL are said to be open to rescheduling Liverpool's Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Aston Villa.
This comes after Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp threatened to pull out of the competition due to a busy schedule in November and December.
The match clashes with the FIFA Club World Cup tourney, which is set to kick off on December 11th in Qatar and will run until the 22nd.
According to the schedule, the quarter-finals are to be played the week commencing December 16 but Liverpool are set to play in the Club World Cup semi-finals on December 18.
The EFL Finals are scheduled for March 1st, but EFL could fix Liverpool's clash in January when there will be less congestion.
Liverpool will also have their Premier League match against West Ham rescheduled due to their planned travel to Asia for the tournament.
"The competition is there, we play the game, if we have no time for the next round we cannot change it," Klopp noted after their win over Arsenal on Wednesday night.
"FIFA tells us we have to go to the Club World Cup, the Premier League tell us we have to play in the Carabao Cup so we try to play it, but if we don't find time it will not happen in our winter break or whatever they give us, because we need that.
"So, I don't care to be honest. It just shows what the problem is. Everybody wants us to play constantly, we've just thought about tonight - we're not thinking about the next round."
The Reds beat Arsenal on penalties on Wednesday night in an entertaining clash which ended 5-5 in normal time.
