After being subbed off in the 1-1 draw against Atalanta, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Ederson is a doubt for the Liverpool clash on Sunday.
Many were surprised when Ederson failed to resume the second half with Claudio Bravo replacing him as it was later confirmed that the Brazilian suffered an injury.
Drama ensued in the final 10 minutes as Bravo was sent off for a foul on Josip Ilicic with Kyle Walker coming on as a sub in goal after Riyadh Mahrez was sacrificed.
Speaking in a post-match press conference, Guardiola provided an injury update on Ederson, "I don't know right now. It's a muscular [thigh] problem. It was not big but to avoid risk.
"He didn't feel comfortable in the last minutes and that's why we decided to make a substitution. He's strong. We're going to try with him but we are not going to take a risk. We will see tomorrow."
Ederson has not missed a game for City through injury since joining the club in 2017.
