Ahead of Liverpool's top of the table clash against Manchester City, Sadio Mane has claimed that Pep Guardiola is trying to get the referee's attention with his "diving" accusations.
Mane was booked for diving in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa with Guardiola hitting out at the Senegalese forward, "Sometimes he's diving; sometimes he has this talent to score incredible goals in the last minute. He's a talent.".
The former Southampton forward has already won penalties against Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur this season which have won the games for Liverpool.
Mane hit back at Pep Guardiola over "diving" claims, insisting that he will not change his ways, "If it could be a penalty for sure I will 'dive' again. If the dive will give me a penalty then I will do it to get it back. Why not?
"But what Jurgen said is correct. I do not dive. It’s a bit clever from him to get the attention of the referee but I will just play my football. I don’t pay attention to what he’s saying because it’s part of football.
"Even though I saw him commenting about it, what he said, for me, I think it’s positive. The only thing I can say I will be ready for the team, to give everything possible, and to help my team."
