It's a top of the table clash this Sunday and with Liverpool holding a six-point advantage over Man City at the summit of the Premier League, it's Pep's side that desperately needs a win.
🔴 Liverpool predicted XI (4-3-3)
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Mané
Klopp's major selection dilemma comes in the centre of the park, with Dejan Lovren most likely to start alongside cornerstone Virgil van Dijk but Joe Gomez is also an option, as a regular centre back, Cameroonian Joël Matip, continues his recovery from injury.
Further upfield, a safe bet would be on the trio of Wijnaldum, Henderson and Fabinho to anchor midfield but Naby Keïta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are both pushing for starts. The irrepressible attacking trio of Salah, Firmino and Mané picks itself.
🌃 City predicted XI (4-2-3-1)
Ederson; Walker, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Cancelo; Gundogan, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Bernardo Silva, Sterling; Agüero
The Citizens continue without key centre back Aymeric Laporte, the Frenchman was a mainstay in the team alongside departed Vincent Kompany. Pep will likely persist with Nicolás Otamendi and Fernandinho in the centre of his defence, although John Stones may be considered.
Club captain David Silva misses out with a short-term injury, while defensive midfielder Rodri is out long term. João Cancelo might be utilized at left-back with Oleksandr Zinchenko out.
It's potentially one of the most important matches in the Premier League in a very long time. The last meeting between the sides ended in a 2-1 win for City at the Etihad Stadium and that proved to be a pivotal day in the title race.
This could be just as decisive if it goes the other way at Anfield.
