Thierry Henry warns France one team will stand in their way at the Euro 2020

Former France and Arsenal attacker Thierry Henry believes France have a chance of lifting the Euro 2020 but should be wary of defending champions Portugal.

The French team is considered among the favourites to triumph next year, following a near-perfect qualifying campaign where they have lost only once.

The won the Wolrd Cup in 2016, and have a strong side that can take on any team in Europe.

Henry, who won the Wolrd Cup and Euro during his playing days with the Le Bleus believes they can go all the way, but it will not be easy as a Cristiano-led Portugal might stand on their way.

"Can they? Of course, they can," Henry said as quoted by Business Insider when asked if the team can replicate the successes of the famous 1998 team.

"But right now Portugal are the holders, and I don't think that [Cristiano] Ronaldo is going to want to let it go,"

"Spain are going to want to come back, Italy, Holland are doing extremely well, although they are still not there yet. Belgium, I'm sure are going to want to erase what happened at the World Cup. So it's very difficult to call that one out,

"Can they? Of course, they can. They have the quality to do that for sure."

The team oozes with quality all over the pitch, and it excites the former Barcelona star.

"What I like with that team is that obviously you have guys like [Olivier] Giroud, [Paul] Pogba, [Antoine] Griezmann, Mbappe, that you expect to shine because that's what they do," he said.

Didier Deschamps' men will play Moldova on Thursday night, before facing Albania in their last match.
