Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi has given an update on injuries picked by winger Ayub Timbe and goalkeeper Patrick Matasi ahead of their Monday clash with Togo.
Matasi was withdrawn in the tenth minute in Stars last match against Egypt for Ian Otieno with Timbe coming off at the half-hour mark for Cliff Nyakeya and according to Kimanzi, the duo might not feature in the Togo game.
“We have less time to have them back and we are still waiting for a medical report. If you have an injury less than twenty minutes into the game that would mean it is not a small injury. If we had another game in the next five days then we could have considered them but we have less time between the two games,” Kimanzi said in Stars Sunday training.
The tactician, however, said the morale in the camp was high after the first-day result and urged the fans to come out in large numbers to root for the home team.
“We are doing well in camp. The motivation is there and we have no injuries apart from the two (Timbe, Matasi). What we are concentrating on is to build on the good things we did in Egypt. We had a plan away from home and we expect to have a different plan in our home game.
“The fans are everything. I would want to see more people than those we saw in Egypt. They push the players and we expect them to be here in large numbers,” Kimanzi added.
