Mwalala assesses Bandari's draw with AFC Leopards

Bandari FC head coach Bernard Mwalala seemed content with a point shared with AFC Leopards in the 2-2 draw registered on Thursday 21st at Mbaraki.

Bandari came from a goal down twice to secure a 2-2 draw against visitors AFC Leopards. Jaffari Owiti put Leopards ahead before Sosthenes Idah leveled the scores. However, the Mombasa based side conceded less than a minute after equalizer as Vincent Oburu netted the second after poor clearance from the defence. Cliff Kasuti scored the leveler for Bandari, a goal that earned them a point at home.

And Mwalala hailed his side for securing a point against a wounded side Leopards, who were coming from Mashemeji Derby loss in the hands of Gor Mahia.

"Getting a draw with a team like AFC Leopards, we know they were wounded from their previous match, the Mashemeji Derby," he said.

"So I think to get a draw for me and for the players, its an improvement, we are developing and I can't complain. We just have to build from this one point and see what can happen on Sunday," he added.

Mwalala was concerned by Bandari performance at the backline, admitting they will have to working on improving his side's defensive displays and is confident there will be a marked improvement at the back.

First half analysis

"I can call it poor defending, and this is a major concern for us, we've been conceding in every game and we need to work on that area ahead of our home game with Gor Mahia."

The Dockers will host league leaders Gor Mahia at Mbaraki Sports club on Sunday 24th.
