Round 11 of the Kenyan Premier League takes center stage this weekend as it serves up some tasty ties with Gor Mahia facing their boogie team Bandari and league strugglers Kariobangi Sharks take on Wazito.
Bandari vs Gor
Gor Mahia travel to Mbaraki Stadium to face their boogie team at a venue they have never won since April 2017. K'Ogalo have however enjoyed some success against the Dockers recently, beating them in their last KPL encounter and winning the Super Cup at the start of the season against Bandari.
Bandari are suffering from Confederations Cup hangover after winning only one match in their last nine encounters with the solitary win coming courtesy of a walkover against Chemelil Sugar.
Bandari who have been synonymous with an airtight defense have shipped in goals in all their last nine fixtures bar the Chemelil game. They might be missing the services of Farouk Shikalo in goal who joined Yanga.
Wazito vs Sharks
Wazito have installed their third manager of the season with just 10 matches played but are yet to pick up from following their promotion from NSL last season.
The appointment of former AFC Leopards Stewart Hall and Frank Ouna who knows Wazito like the back of his hands looks like a sound decision from the management but results on the pitch is how they will be judged.
Not even a sponsorship deal with Betway could inspire Kariobangi Sharks to a win as they suffered their fourth defeat of the season against Ulinzi Stars in a mid-week fixture.
Sharks are now in relegation places and William Muluya badly needs a win to ease the pressure mounting on him. Sharks also have a tricky set of fixtures as they face Wazito, KCB then Tusker.
Posta vs Tusker
Posta have been the surprise package this season after surviving relegation playoffs last season they are now flying high, sitting second on the table only four points behind Gor Mahia who lead the table.
Their success has been down to a strong defense that has let in the least amount of goals this season and have only lost once.
The match will be an interesting one, pitting the meanest defense against the most potent attack as Tusker have scored 19 goals this season.
Matano, however, needs to sort out his leaky defense that has let in the third-highest number of goals this season behind struggling Sony Sugar and Chemelil Sugar.
Leopards vs All Stars
Kisumu All Stars come into the encounter after picking up successive wins against Kariobangi Sharks and Wazito. This will be their first meeting with AFC Leopards in the league with fans dubbing it the "New Mashemeji Derby" owing to the one-sidedness of the original Derby against Gor Mahia.
Leopards' lack of finances seems to be catching up with them as they are winless in the last three fixtures and have slipped from second to eighth on the log. This is a match that Ingwe have to win as they face a tricky run of fixtures in the next couple of weeks, meeting Nzoia Sugar, Mathare United, KCB then Tusker.
