🌍 Four African players to watch out for in the Champions League tonight

The Champions League has reached matchday 5 of the group stages and at the business end, we're watching out for a few players who are key to their side's chances without stealing the headlines.

Here are the fixtures and a selection of African stars who continue to shine on the biggest stages in Europe.

🇿🇦 Percy Tau

The South African superstar produced a brilliant display at the Bernabeu when Club Brugge considered themselves unlucky to draw 2-2 at Real Madrid after leading 2-0. Tau bagged an assist in that game, and he'll be hoping to express himself again as Brugge visits Galatasaray tonight. The hostile environment in Turkey will certainly be a good test for his progress as a player.

🇸🇳 Idrissa Gana Gueye

Paris Saint-Germain has long been looking for a reliable, tough-tackling midfielder and it seems as though they've found their man in the shape of Senegalese star Idrissa Gueye. Everton's slide down the Premier League table is no coincidence after losing a player of Gueye's stature, and he will have his hands full tonight at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid. It's a task that he's up to though.

🇬🇭 Thomas Partey

Atlético Madrid's enforcer is quietly becoming one of the most respected and sought-after defensive midfielders in the game. The Ghanaian has become a fixture in Diego Simeone's team, providing brilliant balance in the centre of the park that allows his more attack-minded colleagues to express themselves. Tonight, Partey has an opportunity to enhance his reputation even further as his side visits the might of Juventus. His meeting with Blaise Matuidi promises to be a high-quality contest.

🇨🇮 Serge Aurier

With Jose Mourinho installed as Tottenham's new manager, Ivorian right-back Serge Aurier started their 3-2 win at West Ham on the weekend. He should keep his place tonight as Spurs look to get a win in Europe under their new boss against Olympiacos. Aurier isn't afraid to make tough tackles and if he can resolve his disciplinary issues, he'll quickly become a firm favourite for Mourinho.
