Nzoia Sugar and AFC Leopards settled for a 2-2 draw in a Kenyan Premier League match staged at Mumias Sports Complex on Saturday 30th.
Leopards came from a goal down twice to secure an away point. Thomas Wainaina opened the scoring in the 8th minute but Boniface Mukhekhe leveled the scores for the hosts. Before the half time whistle blew, Nzoia were ahead thanks to Abraham Kogei's strike but Austin Ochieng netted restored parity, a goal that was enough to force a draw.
Nzoia took an early lead in the 8th minute thanks to Thomas Wainaina's strike. Robert Lokwang had the ball on the wing after a quick corner before delivering a beautiful cross that was connected well by Wainaina to hand the hosts the lead.
Leopards drew level in the 33rd minute and Boniface Mukhekhe was the man o target. The visitors had a lovely build-up from the left-wing as Oburu left his marker before crossing the ball to Whyvonne Isuza. The forward took a heavy shot which was parred by Benson Mangala. It fell in the feet of Mukhekhe who send the ball into the roof of the net.
Just before half time whistle blew, the Millers restored their lead. Abraham Kogei made it 2-1 after connecting perfectly well with Okanda Felicien pass.
In the second half, Leopards were pressing high, Austin Ochieng made a lovely cross to Isuzza who took a shot at goal but it was punched away. Kipyegon was there for the rebound but his shot went over the bar. Minutes later, Ingwe grabbed their equalizer through Austin who rifled past Nzoia keeper.
