Bafana Bafana’s new coach Molefi Ntseki is yet to be in possession of a contract with the South African Football Association (SAFA).

Ntseki surprisingly replaced Stuart Baxter in August before making his major competition debut in a 2-0 loss against Ghana last month. The former U17 coach followed his debut with a 1-0 loss over Sudan.

SAFA, through their spokesperson Dominic Chimhavi confirmed that Ntseki’s is locked in weighty negotiations for a deal.

“Don’t forget, this is a big contract. The three parties – Safa, the coach [Ntseki] and his agent [Matuka] – have been negotiating the terms all this time and trying to get the best possible deal for all,” said Chimhavi to Sunday World.

“We have been engaging the coach’s agent, it is not a case that we wanted to delay matters. We had to sort out and agree on the financial terms.”

Chimhavi concluded his information by revealing that the delay has been caused by the departure of SAFA CEO Russel Paul whose taken up a job in Qatar.

“The delay was caused when the CEO [Russell Paul] had to leave for Qatar and there was no one to continue with the negotiations until the appointment of the new CEO [Mokoena]. That is how my agent explained this whole thing to me.”
