Liverpool maintained their Merseyside stranglehold over Everton with a 5-2 win as they remain eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Beautiful and Massive goals for Liverpool. Divock Origi netted brace as Sadio Mane, Xherdan Shaqiri and Georginio Wijnaldum each scored a goal to stretch Liverpool's unbeaten run to 20 against Everton. Michael Keane and Richarlison scored the consolation goals for Everton.
Liverpool took early control of the game with a beautiful move and a lovely finish from Origi. The man that scored that famous last winner at Anfield last season gave the Reds the lead. Mane drove through the middle and spotted Origi in between the Everton defence. The weight of the pass was just sublime, Origi got there and his first touch took it round Pickford and his second tapped it home.
Alexander-Arnold pinged a 60-yard ball straight into Mane's path - a jaw-dropping pass. From there, Mane accelerated towards the Everton back three and spotted Shaqiri in behind. His pass again was first class and the Swiss international flicked one past Pickford.
Everton hit back through Keane. Iwobi kept an attack alive with a tenacious tackle. He whipped a ball in from the right that was cleared properly by Lovren. Keane was alive to the loose ball and finished like a striker from a tight angle.
Lovren picked out a 50-yard ball over the top of the Everton defence. Origi was onto it and plucked it out of the sky to kill the first touch. The second touch lofted the ball over Pickford and into the net.
Alexander-Arnold accelerated away on the left flank after a corner was cleared. Everton were short on numbers and he fed Mane on the edge of the box. There was still a lot to do but he curled a wonderful effort into the bottom corner and Pickford once again had no chance.
And just before half time, the sixth goal was scored. Bernard got down the left and swung in a perfect cross that was met by Richarlison. It came off his shoulder but that didn't matter as the ball bobbled into the bottom corner.
Firmino picked it up on the left and twisted his way past Holgate. He rolled one to Wijnaldum who lashed one home in fine fashion from 18 yards.
Marco Silva now sees his team in the relegation zone after losing nine of their last 13 Premier League games.
Liverpool will travel to Vitality Stadium to take on AFC Bournemouth on Saturday 7th while Everton will try their luck at home against Chelsea.
