Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw was quick to poke fun at his former team-mate Romelu Lukaku on Tuesday night after Inter Milan were bundled out of the Champions League.
Inter were beaten 2-1 by a weakened Barcelona side at the San Siro in a disappointing result with the defeat ensuring that they will join United in the Europa League for the rest of the season.
Lukaku missed a handful of chances, including one instance where his first touch let him down significantly after rounding the goalkeeper.
And Shaw wasted no time in poking fun at the Belgian, who he could be playing against later in the competition this coming after the Belgian had posted a smiling tweet on October 22nd with the caption: “UCL”.
And Shaw waited until Inter’s exit from the competition was confirmed to quote tweet it saying: “Welcome back” with a wink.
There were reports that the duo had fallen out before Lukaku left United with the striker having been criticized for posting an image on Instagram of the various speed stats for every player at the club, trying to prove he was one of the quickest. In doing so, however, he also revealed that Shaw was the slowest player at the club.
