Manchester United wrapped up their Europa League group action in style, thumping a hapless AZ Alkmaar 4-0 to finish top of their group ahead of the Dutch opponents.
After a quiet first-half, United sprung to life in the second half, scoring four goals in a space of 10 minutes to completely blow out the visitors.
Ashley Young opened the scoring in the 53rd minute before Mason Greenwood doubled the lead five minutes later, and Juan Mata converted from the spot in the 62nd minute.
Two minutes later, Greenwood scored his second of the night and United's fourth to give the home side a deserved win, their third in a row in all competitions.
The match was uneventful through the first 45 minutes with no real attack as both sides traded equal blows mainly in the middle of the park.
It, however, came to life in the second half, with Sergio Romero forced to make a perfect save three minutes after the restart to deny Calvin Stengs, who made himself some space inside the box and unleashed a low drive towards the middle of the goal.
Anthony Martial then dragged his shot over the bar having found some space inside the box in the 52nd minute, a minute before Ashley Young gave the Reds the lead from inside the box.
The captain reacted quickly to stab the ball under the crossbar for the opening goal, which opened a floodgate of goals.
United, perhaps comfortable with the lead, got their feet off the pedal, opting to dictate play from midfield and happy to run rings around their opponents.
They came close to adding to their tally on a number of times but did not find the net as the four goals stood at the final whistle.
They qualified as group winners with Alkmaar taking the second spot.
