πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬β˜πŸΏ Amunike questions Nigeria's development age-grades

Former Super Eagles international Emmanuel Amunike has questioned why Nigeria does not live up to its age division abilities shown at international tournaments.

Nigeria’s consistent showings at international youth tournaments took a dip in 2019. The U17s failed to impress at the World Cup while the U20 &v U23s failed to make the relevant major tournaments.

“We have the talents to qualify for major age-grade events and do well but, we seem to have deviated from that winning formula,” the former Barcelona winger told Sports Extra.

“Sound developmental programs will curb age cheat that has always impeded the seamless transition of players to the next grade.”

However, the silver lining for 2019 was Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen getting nominated for the CAF Youth African Player of the Year.

“Nigeria failed to go far at the U-17 and U-20 World Cups so, it should be a cause for concern for our administrators,” Amunike added.
