Solskjaer impressed with Man United squad, hints at few arrivals

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solsjaer has hinted at sticking with a good number of his stars, despite being linked with a host of players across Europe.

The Norwegian is adamant the club is in a good position in terms of the kind of players they have, and will only make a few additions.

He has particularly been impressed by the youngsters making the step up from the academy, with the likes of Mason Greenwood, Scott McTominay and Brandon William all starring this season.

"This is a group you can work with," Solskjaer said as quoted by Evening Standard.

"They're going to give you everything. That's the core of what the team is going to be moving forward, for me.

"Of course we're looking at a couple of signings and strengthening here and there but the core group is there."

United have been linked with Sporting Lisbon's Bruno Fernandes, following injuries to key midfielders Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.

The club has also been linked with Lyon's Moussa Dembele following their failure to replace Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, who both moved to Inter Milan in the summer.

Solskjaer is however convinced the emergence of Mason Greenwood vindicates their decision, and with Marcus Rashford in the form of his life, they might not need to spend a lot on a proved forward.
