Gary Neville has warned Harry Maguire after the defender was confirmed as Manchester United's new club captain on Friday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appointed Maguire as United's captain following the departure of Ashley Young who joined Italian giants Inter Milan. The former Leicester man inherits the armband from Young after the long-serving defender signed for Milan to link up with former teammates Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez. Neville took it to Twitter to congratulate the world's most expensive defender while warning him that the post will come thick and fast in the next two years.
"Congratulations! The ***t will come thick and fast in the next year or two. Stick at it as you are the captain of the biggest club in the world and it will rise and win again," he wrote.
Young had made 202 starts for the club, amassing a further 59 appearances as a substitute, and had scored 19 goals.
