Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn has revealed that he is unlikely to return to action in time for the Carabao Cup final at Wembley in three weeks time, Express Star reported.
McGinn who sustained an ankle injury in their 3-1 defeat to Southampton in December 2019 was expected to return for the Villans by March 1 but now it has emerged that the midfield maestro will be on the sidelines for a bit longer.
However, at a meeting with Villa fan Prince William for the FA’s Heads Together mental health campaign in London on Wednesday, McGinn hinted he could be out for longer.
When quizzed by Prince William on his possible return, McGinn said: “About five to six weeks, I’ll be back.”
