Dele Alli facing possibility of a ban after social media post

According to reports, Spurs could be without midfielder Dele Alli for Sunday’s match against Aston Villa as he might face a ban.

The midfielder recently made a post on his social media in which he appeared to mock an Asian man and claimed he may be infected with the coronavirus.

After the post, the FA wrote him and the player apologized saying: “It isn’t something that should be joked about. Sending all my love and thoughts and prayers for everyone in China.”

According to The Guardian, Alli is being investigated for an infringement of the FA’s rule E3(1) which prohibits players from creating social media posts considered “improper” or which bring the game into disrepute.

If he gets banned, this will be a big blow for his team seeing as, under new manager Mourinho, Alli has five goals and two assists in 13 Premier League games.
