Atletico Madrid's attacking pair of Alvaro Morata and Diego Costa are likely to be available for the Champions League game against Liverpool on Tuesday in Madrid.
The duo will boost Atletico's attack which desperately needs all resources it can muster for the crunch tie.
Morata played for 23 minutes in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Valencia. He hadn't made an appearance since sustaining a muscle injury against town rivals Real Madrid on February 1. Morata is Atletico's top goalscorer this season with 10 goals.
The fiery Diego Costa hasn't played since he underwent surgery on a herniated cervical disc in November last year. The former Chelsea man has however resumed training with the rest of the team and club coach Diego Simeone believes that he will be ready for the last-16 tie against in-form Liverpool.
Joao Felix missing
The Reds will make their first return to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium where Jurgen Klopp led his men European glory in June last year.
Other players returning from injuries include defenders Jose Gimenez and Santiago Arias. Portuguese forward Joao Felix will miss this key because of a throat infection.
The Liverpool game is crucial to the misfiring Atletico as they are having a difficult 2020. Since the beginning of this calendar year, they have lost the Spanish Super Cup final, been eliminated from the Copa del Rey by a third-tier team, and fallen out of contention in the Spanish league.
