Sports Club Villa ended giant-killing Kajjansi United's stay in Uganda Cup with a narrow 1-0 away at Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium on Sunday.

The lone goal was scored by Ronald Magwali after half an hour and the Uganda Premier League side held on to see off Kajjansi. The regional side had famously knocked out UPL leaders Vipers SC in Round of 64 and they fancied their chances of claiming another big scalp at Wankulukuku.

Elsewhere, ten-man Kataka recovered from a goal down to beat Spartans 5-4 on post-match penalties after the game had finished in a one-all stalemate in regular time.

CAF Confederation Cup

UPL side Kyetume survived elimination scare as they beat Kigezi Homeboyz 4-2 on post-match kicks after the two teams had finished regulation tied at one apiece.

The draw for the round of 16 clubs will be held in the coming week as the date and venue shall be confirmed by the FUFA Competitions department.

The winner of the Uganda Cup earns a ticket to represent the country at the CAF Confederation Cup.
