Manchester United legend Paul Sholes has been left impressed by new club signing Bruno Fernandes, labeling him a special talent.
Fernandes arrived at the Manchester club from Sporting Lisbon during the January transfer window and has already become a fan-favorite with impressive displays.
The Portuguese playmaker has scored two goals so far, registered two assists and won three Man-of-the-Match awards.
“He looks a special talent and looks like he can be a hero of the fans as well,” said Scholes while working as a pundit on Thursday night.
“He has got the right name for it, with the song and stuff. But then you think of Eric Cantona and Wayne Rooney, these people who are idolized by the fans, and you hope that in the future he can become as good as them," he added.
He then went on to highlight the 25-year-old's strengths, noting he was particularly impressed by his ability to note the positioning of his teammates.
“In that position, whether you are a number 10, a number eight, all of the numbers you give, I don't care about all of the numbers, if you are playing in that position then you need to know where everyone is on the pitch,"
"Bruno has got that. He has got everything sorted before the ball gets to him and it makes everything quicker. It is difficult to defend against," he added.
United will continue with their chase for a Champions League ticket when they travel to face Everton on Sunday at the Goodison Park.
The team is almost at full-strength following the return of key players from injury.
