Ulinzi Stars hand Sofapaka second consecutive defeat as ten-man AFC Leopards secure slim victory

Sofapaka suffered their second consecutive defeat after going down to a 1-0 loss in the hands of Ulinzi Stars. 

Enosh Ochieng netted the decisive goal in the second half from the spot, grabbing his 50th Kenyan Premier League goal. This is the second consecutive loss for Batoto ba Mungu having suffered a 2-1 loss to AFC Leopards last weekend. 

Sofapaka had the first attempt on goal as Jenidak went past Muchika before delivering in a low cross to Promise but Ongoma reacted quickly to sent the ball out for a throw-in. Minutes later, there was an injury concern for Ulinzi Stars as Michael Otieno took a boot in the face from Ikekhai. Shambi was up warming but Otieno was fit to continue with the match. Two minutes later, Otieno wasn't able to continue and he was taken off with Shambi coming into his place. 

Batoto ba Mungu almost grabbed the lead in the 22nd minute. Achesa made a quick throw in before Promise flicked to Nana but the Ghananian was fouled in the process. The hosts were calling for a penalty but the referee waved play on. A response from the Soldiers as they made a run down the left flank by Enosh Ochieng but his shot was collected by Aimo. 

Penalty

Ulinzi Stars were awarded a penalty after Shami Kibwana was brought down by Jacobs Faina in the danger zone. Enosh stepped up to take it and made no mistake, netting his 50th KPL goal. 

Chemelil 0-1 AFC Leopards 

At Kericho Green Stadium, AFC Leopards registered a slim victory over Chemelil Sugar following a 1-0 win. Elvis Rupia's 7th-minute strike was all Ingwe needed to pick maximum points away from home. Anthony Kimani's men were forced to finish the match with ten men after Clyde Sinaj was sent off after collecting the second yellow.
