Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes a swipe at Jose Mourinho

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken a dig at his predecessor Jose Mourinho after claiming that he needed to change a lot of things to make the team tick again.

Ahead of the scheduled visit to Tottenham on Sunday which has since been cancelled, Solskjaer said he was the right man for the United job as he understood the club’s DNA.

“I'd rather not speak about other teams and other manager's teams. I felt a lot needed to be changed. We've signed four players and lost quite a few and promoted from within, lots of youngsters.

“I don't know how dramatic those changes have been. I don't think it feels dramatic for the squad and the ones that were here. We needed certain pieces in the puzzle and they've worked.

“It's not just about tactics, it's about the players. I've got a great staff. I've got a philosophy I think is worthy of this club. I'm a red and I think I know what this club needs,” Solskjaer said.

Mourinho’s season at Spurs has not gone well and injuries have not helped his course too with the team currently without a win in their last six games.

United are three points off fourth-placed Chelsea and a win against Spurs when the league resumes would give them the needed boost as they seek to qualify for the Champions League.
