Defending champions Bandari have pulled out of the FKF Cup tie against Sofapaka.
Bandari FC were set to host Sofapaka at Mbaraki Sports Club but after Kenya confirmed the first case of Coronavirus the match will not push through as planned. On Friday 13th, it was confirmed that the last 16 tie pitting the Dockers and Batoto ba Mungu was set to be played behind closed doors.
"This is with reference to the letter that you released on 13th March 2020 regarding Coronavirus stating that the FKF matches slated for this weekend will proceed as scheduled," Bandari wrote to FKF.
"Regrettably, following and relying on the Government Statement on Corona Virus released and with the directive from the office of the president on the suspension of all public gather, our Sponsor, through the Managing director has directed that the match should not proceed as scheduled."
"Considering the circumstances at hand, we, therefore, request you to re-schedule the FKF Cup match No. 35 (Bandari vs Sofapaka) that was slated for today 14th March 2020 until the ban is lifted. Thank you."
