Former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop backs Thomas Partey for Arsenal move

Former West Ham United goalkeeper Shaka Hislop has insisted that Arsenal should make a quick move to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, Ghanasoccernet reported.

Partey has been attracting interests from several clubs across the world and now it has emerged that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is looking to bolster his midfield and the Ghanaian could be an ideal fit.

The 26-year-old who has been a regular feature in Diego Simeone's squad is still contracted to Atletico until 2023, however, Hislop believes that the Emirates outfit should make a bid for the star midfielder.

“Thomas Partey has been outstanding for the last two years at the very least,” Hislop told ESPN FC.

“If you’re Arsenal and you can somehow prise Partey away from Atletico Madrid, absolutely you do it all day every day.

“He sits in front of the back four, I’m still not sure that there are many better box-to-box midfielders in the game. If you get this done, do it now, do it quickly.”
