Manchester City fined by UEFA in Champions League win over Real Madrid

Manchester City have been fined €3,000 by Uefa for 'kit infringement' during their 2-1 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola's men impressively came from a goal down to beat Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, but it was their kit that caught the attention of the governing body.

The jackets the Cityzens wore before kickoff had logos of their sponsors both on the front and the back, which is not permitted by regulations.

According to UEFA, only a single logo of the sponsors is permitted on kits, with those on the front not supposed to exceed 20cm.

This comes weeks after City were banned for allegedly breaking financial rules, even though they lodged an appeal that is set to be heard.

Two more English sides have also been hit with UEFA fines for incidents during the knockout fixtures.

Liverpool were hit with a €3,250 fine for setting off fireworks during their clash against Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

Tottenham too were on the receiving end as they were fined €20,000 and coach Jose Mourinho warned after he was found responsible for delaying the kickoff between the London side and RB Leipzig.
