Harambee Stars defender Michael Kibwage has denied rumours linking him with a move to Tanzania giants Simba SC.
Kibwage has been a revelation for KCB since signing for them from AFC Leopards in 2018 going on to be named the captain of the team.
Speaking to Pepeta, the central defender said: “I have not talked with any club concerning any move. I’m still contracted at KCB and I’m currently concentrating to know what the season holds for us.”
The defender, however, confirmed that his contract with the Zedekiah Otieno coached side was set to come to an end in October with the club yet to talk with him over a new deal.
“It’s true my contract with the club will come to an end in October so such rumours are expected. The club has not spoken to me about renewing the deal mostly because of the corona issue. I should be able to know my next move once we are through with the pandemic,” Kibwage added.
The defender is revered among his peers and coaches in the country with the player having captained the Kenya U23 team that fell short to Sudan in the 2020 Olympic Qualifiers last year.
