Gor Mahia striker Juma Balinya is dreaming of a return to the Uganda national team in the future.
Balinya joined Gor Mahia three months ago from Tanzania giants Yanga SC but has not hit the ground running as had been expected.
Speaking to Football256, the former Police FC striker admitted that his adaptation had been slowed by Coronavirus but will be doing everything to clinch the golden boot when the league resumes for its next season.
“I was just getting started three months in when this pandemic happened. I started well and I was getting more comfortable but I call those few months a success. “My target next season is to try and win the golden boot but also return to the national team,” he said.
The player switched sides with Ivorian striker Gislem Yikpe who had failed to spark at Gor Mahia and came with high hopes after being the top scorer of the Ugandan Premier League last season.
The Kenyan Premier League though has been cancelled with Football Kenya Federation declaring Balinya’s Gor as the league champions; a feat that will see the Ugandan get another bite at the CAF Champions League.
