Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has welcomed coach Gernot Rohr's contract extension, which will see him head the West African side for a further two years.
The German coach extended on Wednesday evening, which could keep him at the helm until after the 2022 World Cup.
The President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick announced the deal, saying;
“I’m happy to announce that the NFF and Coach Gernot Rohr have concluded all contractual discussions and he will stay on as Coach of the Super Eagles. We have always had confidence in his abilities and we are confident that the national team can only go higher from here,"
In a post on his social twitter page, Ogu termed the latest development as 'good news'.
“Woke up to the news from @thenff that Mr. Gernot Rohr remains our National team coach. Great news for our country Football. Our Football will never fall moving forward 🙏🏻🙏🏻 ” he said.
