Serie A giants AC Milan has given an injury update on mercurial striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ibrahimovic suffered a calf muscle injury in training last month and the club said they were going to access him before making a decision ahead of the Serie A return.
On Thursday, Milan said in a statement: “Ibrahimovic has undergone a check-up following the injury to his right soleus muscle. His recovery is proceeding well, without complications and a new check-up is to be expected in about 10 days.”
Milan will hope that they can have their striker back in time for action before they face Lecce on June 22 in what will be their first league action since it was suspended due to coronavirus.
Before the Lecce game, the club will be participating in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Juventus on either June 12 or 13.
Should the 38 years fail to recover on time for the first games, he should be at least get involved in the league ties that are expected to end on August 2.
