Barcelona eased past RCD Mallorca with a 4-0 victory as the league leaders were back in action following the resumption of the LaLiga.
Well, we all missed football, especially the LaLiga but it seemed Barcelona had missed this even more as they just saw the back of the net inside two minutes of play. Arturo Vidal gave the league leaders an early lead before Martin Braithwaite made it 2-0 just before half time. In the second half, Jordi Alba calmly finished past Manolo Reina after Lionel Messi spotted his run with a lobbed pass. The Barcelona captain grabbed the fourth goal in the stoppage time to make it 4-0 for the Catalans.
Barcelona had a brilliant start in the game, grabbing the lead inside the second minute of play through Arturo Vidal. De Jong won the ball back for his side on the edge of the Mallorca penalty area before laying it off to Alba. The full-back whipped in a cross from the left and Vidal gets into the box to head powerfully past Reina to give the visitors the lead.
In the 37th minute, Barcelona doubled their lead through Braithwaite who scored on his debut. The ball looped into the penalty area and Messi got his head to the ball. He flicked it on and it fell to Braithwaite, who smashes the ball past Reine and into the roof of the net. However, there was a VAR check. Did Griezmann handle the ball in the build-up? VAR check was complete and the goal stood.

In the 79th minute, there was that connection once again. Lionel Messi's pass released Alba, who produces a really cool finish to beat Reina. However, there was a VAR check to confirm if Alba was in an offside position. Well, the check was complete and the goal remained.
Messi got his goal to cap a perfect night for Barcelona. He cut inside onto his right foot, evading two challenges before striking the ball past Reina via a deflection. That was Messi's 20th league goal of the season.
The win sees Barcelona stretch their lead at the top with 61 points, five above second-placed Real Madrid who take on Eibar on Sunday.
