Lampard rules Chelsea trio out of Crystal Palace match

Chelsea will be without N'Golo Kante, Matteo Kovacic and Fikayo Tomori when Chelsea visit Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in a Premier League match on Tuesday night.

Kante limped off the Blues' 3-0 win over Watford on Saturday night, and coach Frank Lampard has revealed he will not be available for the match.

Kovacic, who is also nursing a minor injury will miss the clash, but might be ready for the weekend fixture.

"Kante won’t be in the squad," said Lampard. "He has a low-level hamstring injury. We’re hoping it’ll be a week or so. I would expect we’ll be very lucky to have him for Sheffield United.

"[Mateo] Kovacic trained with us today, he’s not ready for this game, hopefully, the next. [Fikayo] Tomori is still not ready. He had a small setback in training so hopefully next week,"

Chelsea will be in the hunt for a fourth victory in their last five Premier League matches, having bounced back from their 3-2 surprise loss to West Ham last week to beat Watford over the weekend.

They are currently fourth on the standings with 57 points, one behind third-placed Leicester and two ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United.

The Blues have a busy fixture as they play three matches in a space of eight matches, with Sheffield and Norwich in line after Palace.
