Fulham advanced to the play-off final with 3-2 win on aggregate against Cardiff City at Craven Cottage.
Curtis Nelson put Cardiff City ahead after just eight minutes of play before Neesken Kebano leveled the scores for Fulham immediately after 24 seconds. Lee Tomlin then set up a tense ending with a smart finish, but Scott Parker's men held on in the end to reach the play-off final, where they will face West London neighbors Brentford on Tuesday night at Wembley Stadium.
Trailing by two goals on aggregate, Neil Harris men made the perfect start to the game. In the 8th minute, Rodak made a save but Curtis Nelson headed home from the penalty spot and reduced the aggregate deficit.
However, just 24 seconds after the restart Fulham went up the other end to restore their two-goal lead in the tie. Decordova-Reid was given far too much space down the right and he crossed for Neeskens Kebano in the middle, who slammed it low past Smithies.
At the restart of the second half, Will Vaulks' long throw caused problems for Fulham again, with Nathaniel Mendez-Laing towering to power a header at Marek Rodak. He managed to push the ball away, but only as far as Lee Tomlin, who volleyed in from an angle after a poor touch from Michael Hector.
The winner between Fulham and Brentford will earn a promotion to the Premier League.
