Chelsea FC new acquisition Kai Haverts has been welcomed at the club by countrymate Timo Werner who joined earlier in the summer.
Haverts secured a £71m transfer to Chelsea FC from Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year contract following months of transfer speculation and while welcoming his German counterpart, Werner wrote on Twitter: “Welcome to Chelsea, my friend! @kaihavertz29.”
Havertz becomes the second-most expensive signing in Chelsea FC’s history behind Kepa Arrizabalaga, who cost the Blues a club record £71.6m in the 2018 summer transfer window.
The new acquisition arrives in a Chelsea team that is already full of talents in the midfield region with the club having Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley in the middle of the park.
Chelsea FC has so far signed seven players this window as Frank Lampard looks to compete on all fronts after the team qualified for the Champions League.
The new faces in the team include Hakim Ziyech, Werner, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr and full-back Ben Chilwell. They have also improved their youth set-up with the addition of Xavier Mbuyamba from FC Barcelona.
The club who has offloaded Pedro to Roma and Willian who has joined AS Roma and Arsenal respectively start their 2020-21 Premier League campaign with a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday 14 September.
