Bristol City forward Famara Diedhiou is reportedly attracting the interest of Ligue 1 side Dijon according to several reports.
According to Foot Mercato, Dijon are targeting the Senegal international as a potential replacement for Julio Tavares who is on his way out.
"I love him to bits," Holden told BBC Radio Bristol. "People know what I feel about Fam.
"We've had good conversations with him. The club has made him an offer on a new contract - obviously, he's going into his final year. And we're awaiting a response on that.
"I've had good conversations with him and he wants to stay from what I can make out.
"We're under no pressure to sell. Of course when we do sell and if we sell, like with any player, we try and do it at the right time and with the right deal. The club has done that over the years very well, I have to say.
"It's dangerous when a player goes into the last year of his contract as nowadays they've maybe got a little bit more power than the club at times because they can obviously go on a free next summer."
